How to Add a TXT Record in cPanel

Adding a TXT record to your domain is an essential step when setting up domain verification, email verification, or other DNS configurations. Follow the steps below to add a TXT record in cPanel.

Step 1: Log in to cPanel

  • Begin by logging into your cPanel account.

Step 2: Navigate to the DNS Zone Editor

  • Scroll down to the Domains section.
  • Click on Zone Editor.

Step 3: Find Your Domain

  • In the Zone Editor, you’ll see a list of your domains.
  • Find the domain where you want to add the TXT record and click Manage.

Step 4: Add a TXT Record

  • On the next page, click the + Add Record dropdown button and select Add TXT Record.

Step 5: Enter TXT Record Details

  • Now, you’ll need to enter the Name (usually the domain name or a specific subdomain) and the TXT Data (the value provided by the service you’re setting up).
  • For example, if you’re verifying a domain, the service will give you the exact values to enter here.

Step 6: Save the TXT Record

  • After entering the details, click Save Record to finalize the addition.

Step 7: Verify the TXT Record

  • It may take some time for DNS changes to propagate, usually within a few minutes to a couple of hours. After that, you can verify the TXT record by using online tools like DNS checkers or waiting for the service (such as Google, Microsoft, etc.) to confirm the verification.

This step-by-step guide ensures you can quickly and easily add a TXT record in cPanel. Once the record is added, remember that DNS changes can take time to propagate.
