How to Delete a Subdomain in cPanel

If you no longer need a subdomain, deleting it in cPanel is simple and can help keep your domain structure organized. Here’s how to remove a subdomain in cPanel:

Step 1: Log in to cPanel

  • Access your cPanel account by entering your login credentials.

Step 2: Go to the Domains Section

  • Scroll down and locate the Domains section in the main cPanel dashboard.
  • Click on Domains to view all domains and subdomains associated with your account.

Step 3: Locate the Subdomain to Delete

  • In the Domains page, you’ll see a list of all domains and subdomains.
  • Find the subdomain you want to delete and click on the Manage button next to it.

Step 4: Remove the Subdomain

  • On the management page for the selected subdomain, look for the Remove the Domain button.
  • Click on it, and a confirmation prompt will appear.

Step 5: Confirm Deletion

  • To confirm the deletion, click Yes, Remove this Domain.
  • After a moment, you’ll receive a success confirmation indicating the subdomain has been removed.

Important Notes

  • Document Root: Deleting the subdomain does not automatically delete its files. You may want to go to File Manager to remove any associated files in the subdomain’s document root.
  • Effect on Website: Make sure there are no active links or dependencies tied to the subdomain before deleting it, as this can break links or functionality.

Your subdomain is now successfully deleted from cPanel!
