How to Delete an SRV Record in cPanel

If you need to remove an SRV record that is no longer needed, follow these simple steps to delete it from cPanel.

Step 1: Log in to cPanel

  • Start by logging into your cPanel account

Step 2: Open the DNS Zone Editor

  • Scroll down to the Domains section.
  • Click on Zone Editor.

Step 3: Select the Domain

  • In the Zone Editor, find the domain that contains the SRV record and click Manage.

Step 4: Locate the SRV Record

  • Scroll through the list of DNS records to find the SRV record you want to delete.
  • You can also use the search bar to filter out other records and locate the SRV record faster.

Step 5: Delete the SRV Record

  • Once you’ve found the SRV record, click the Delete button (represented by a trash bin icon) next to the record.

Step 6: Confirm the Deletion

  • A confirmation popup will appear. Click Delete to confirm that you want to remove the SRV record.

Step 7: Verify the Change

  • After deleting the SRV record, it may take some time for the DNS changes to propagate. You can use an online DNS checker to ensure the record has been removed.
