How to Install Piwigo via Softaculous in cPanel

Piwigo is a user-friendly photo gallery software that lets you create and manage image galleries online. Here’s how to install it via Softaculous in cPanel. Follow each step carefully, and add images in between as needed.


Step 1: Log In to cPanel

  • Go to your cPanel login page.
  • Enter your username and password, then click Log In.

Step 2: Open Softaculous Apps Installer

  • In your cPanel dashboard, scroll down to the Software section.
  • Click on Softaculous Apps Installer to access a library of installable applications.

Step 3: Search for Piwigo

  • In the Softaculous search bar, type Piwigo and press Enter.
  • Select Piwigo from the search results to open its installation page.

Step 4: Start Installation

  • Click on Install Now to start setting up Piwigo.

Step 5: Choose Installation URL

  • Select the domain where you want to install Piwigo.
  • For the Directory field, leave it blank to install in the root (e.g., https://example.com) or specify a folder (e.g., gallery for https://example.com/piwigo).

Step 6: Configure Site Settings

  • In Site Settings, enter a Site Name and a Site Description that describe your gallery.
    • Site Name: The title displayed on your gallery.
    • Site Description: A brief overview of your gallery’s purpose.

Step 7: Set Up the Admin Account

  • Under Admin Account, create login credentials:
    • Admin Username: Choose a unique username.
    • Admin Password: Use a strong password and confirm it.
    • Admin Email: Enter an email address for receiving notifications.

Step 8: Select Language

  • Choose the Language for your Piwigo installation from the dropdown. Set it to the language preferred by your audience.

Step 9: Start Installation

  • Review your settings, then click Install at the bottom of the page.
  • Softaculous will begin the installation, which may take a few moments.

Step 10: Access Your Piwigo Gallery

  • After installation, you’ll see a confirmation with links to:
    • Your Piwigo gallery (e.g., https://example.com)
    • Piwigo Admin Dashboard (e.g., https://example.com/admin)

Use these links to view your gallery or log in to the Piwigo admin dashboard.


Your Piwigo installation is now complete! You can start uploading images and organizing your photo gallery right away.
